7th Tackle: Three Sydney clubs in running to sign Foran

We should know by next week where Kieran Foran’s future lies.

The Warriors five-eighth spent a few extra days in Sydney early this week following his team’s loss in Canberra on Saturday night.

The purpose of his layover is pretty obvious: to meet with interested Sydney clubs and go through the options.

Foran knows the entire halves player market hinges on his decision and that’s why he wants a quick resolution, preferably before the Anzac Test on May 5, when he's set to return to Kiwi colours.

The agonising decision is not dissimilar to two years ago when he made the gut-wrenching call to leave Manly for Parramatta.

Foran feels heavily indebted to the Warriors for supporting him during the toughest period of his career – and they’ve continued to show faith, going above and beyond with their new $1 million plus offer.

Club owner Eric Watson is keeping a close eye on the situation from Europe and is desperate to keep Foran.

But apart from relocating their base to Sydney, there’s nothing the Warriors can do to bring Foran closer to his two young children.

With his partner on the Northern Beaches, Newcastle is an option as Foran would be willing commute from the Central Coast, where his mother resides.

The Sydney clubs with a realistic chance include Canterbury, Cronulla, and Wests Tigers.
