India star's stunning act of sportsmanship for Aussie batsman

KL Rahul has produced a remarkable act of sportsmanship at the SCG, earning applause from Aussie fans and even the umpire.

Rahul dived for a low catch early on day three of the fourth Test after Marcus Harris tried to dispatch Ravindra Jadeja down the ground.

However Rahul immediately signalled that it had bounced before going into his hands.

He easily could have claimed the catch or said he wasn’t sure and let the third umpire decide, but his stunning admission won over fans.

The SCG faithful gave him a huge round of applause, with umpire Ian Gould joining in.

“Rahul, outstanding mate, well done,” Gould said, giving the India star a thumbs up.

Harris went on to notch his second half-century in Test cricket as the Aussies reached 1-80 after the first hour on Saturday.

Usman Khawaja fell for 27, caught by Cheteshwar Pujara after a false shot from a Kuldeep Yadav wrong-un.

The Aussies have a mountain of work to do with the bat after India amassed 7d-622 in their first innings.
