The biggest bone of contention among NSW players inside the State of Origin camp wasn’t whether David Klemmer would start the game, or what players decided to do on their day off.

There was anger among the team about the fact their Queensland counterparts receive a bigger daily allowance while in camp.

When NSW players discovered the Maroons get $90 a day, compared to their $60 handout, there was widespread indignation.

Calls were even made to the RLPA to try and get a level playing field.

The players were told that it all worked out even in the end, with the Queenslanders losing out from a slightly bigger tax bite from their $30,000 match payments.
