7th Tackle: Val socks it to Gal

Valentine Holmes certainly had his tail up after scoring a hat-trick in State of Origin III.

We’re told he delivered some choice sledges to Sharks teammate Andrew Fifita during the game, but saved his best for skipper Paul Gallen when he returned for club duty last Thursday.

The pair was on the massage table together prior to their clash against the Titans.

Holmes took the opportunity to offer Gallen his Maroons socks – as a present to the veteran’s son. The offer was politely declined.

Gallen watched the game on his couch in the Sutherland Shire. It was the first decider he’d witnessed from the comfort of home since 2006.
