The iconic Queensland brew has given up its naming rights deal with the Maroons, and will only remain as the team’s ‘official beer’.

The Blues’ contract with major sponsor VB is also expiring, meaning they’re on the look out for a new beverage partner.

While we don’t expect XXXX to appear on any sky blue jerseys, we’re told a less sacrilegious commercial relationship could be reached with stable partner, Tooheys..

We’re also hearing The Star has been in talks to upgrade its prominence on the sky blue jersey.

And while we’re talking about apparel, the Blues are also set to nab Queensland’s current jersey supplier, Canterbury.

The Maroons have also been rocked by the departure of their major sponsor, Suncorp.
