7th Tackle: DCE’s utility to win the day

If there’s one thing that’s been consistent about Queensland’s Origin team over the past decade, it’s been the selection of a genuine utility player on the bench.

Michael Morgan and Cameron Munster are two players capable of filling that role, but it appears likely they will be elevated into the starting side to replace Johnathan Thurston and Darius Boyd respectively.

MORE 7TH TACKLE:
* JT surgery saves more than NRL career
* Lee's unwanted quaddie of bombed tries
* How Gus got it right on RCG
* Moses' baby dilemma
* The NRL's King of resilience

That leaves the bench spot as a shoot out between Ben Hunt and Daly Cherry-Evans.

We’re tipping the in-form Sea Eagles skipper to get a recall few would have imagined this year, purely based on his ability to cover more positions than Hunt.

DCE has also done the job well in the past, coming on late in the half to play back row.

Stints at centre, or even hooker, aren’t beyond him either.
