Barry Hall has vowed to end Sonny Bill Williams' boxing career after it was announced the AFL great and rugby legend will face off in the ring.

Williams will look to extend his eight-fight unbeaten streak when he takes on Hall in Sydney on March 23 with the AFL enforcer coming off a draw with Paul Gallen.

The All Blacks great said Hall isn't 'near my class' and said he will be training with heavyweight king Tyson Fury in the lead up to the bout.

"For the first time in my professional sporting career, I am fully concentrating on boxing," he said on Stan Event.

"My focus on winning this fight begins with a phenomenal opportunity to join the world’s biggest name in boxing, Tyson Fury, at his training camp in the UK immediately, to ensure I am 100 per cent prepared for this fight.

"I know Barry Hall is a very hard man and his debut proved he has a tonne of skill, but he is inexperienced in the ring and nowhere near my class level."

However, Hall doesn't think the fight will be easy and said Williams' opponents to date have been hand-picked.

“Sonny is a hugely talented individual but has not ever faced anyone of my size or skill," Hall added.

"The lad has had everything laid on a silver platter in his boxing career to date.

"Sonny Boy has made a mistake in taking this fight, I intend to finish his boxing career and open up bigger fight opportunities for myself.”

Sonny Bill Williams and Barry Hall records

Sonny Bill Williams is 8-0 in his boxing career and defeated Waikato Falefehi in his latest bout back in June last year.

However, this was his first fight since 2015 after he chose to finish off his career with the All Blacks before a switch to the Roosters in the NRL.

Hall only has one professional bout to his name and it came against Gallen.

Despite the lack of experience, Hall showed he could go the distance against an opponent that has continually shocked the boxing landscape in Australia.

Hall won't be intimidated in the ring having earned a fierce reputation during his AFL career.
