World reacts to fan's 'disgusting' live TV attack on WWE star

The WWE universe has been left stunned after a fan attacked superstar Seth Rollins during a live performance on Monday Night Raw.

Rollins was talking to the camera for a promo following a match as he headed back up the entrance ramp when a fan was seen charging towards him.

The wrestler didn't see the fan until the last second before he was tackled and held down.

Rollins fought back as the referee intervened and grabbed the intruder.

Security eventually intervened and escorted the fan backstage.

While the broadcast cameras didn't pick up the attack, fans were filming the superstar during the incident.

The WWE universe reacted to the 'disgusting' event, despite Rollins appearing to come out of it uninjured.

Fan arrested after Seth Rollins attack

The fan, that appeared to tackle Rollins, was taken to the police station.

"WWE takes the safety of its performers very seriously," a WWE statement read.

"The individual who attacked Seth Rollins has been turned over to the NYPD and will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law."

Rollins was believed to be uninjured following the incident and refused medical attention.

The 35-year-old wrestler is married to fellow WWE star Becky Lynch.
