UFC fighter suffers collapsed lung but still wins
Extraordinary details have emerged about the horrific injury a UFC fighter overcame before clinching a remarkable victory.
Paul Felder claimed a hard-fought unanimous decision at UFC Phoenix, despite suffering a severe injury in the latter stages of the bout against James Vick.
Felder and Vick engaged in a brutal three-round showdown in the lightweight co-main event, with Felder in serious strife in the final minutes of the bout when he is believed to have suffered a collapsed lung.
The American’s team explained the fighter’s predicament afterwards.
“Paul Felder suffered a collapsed lung in the closing minutes of his fight against James Vick last night, his manager Brian Butler told ESPN.
“Doctors believe the lung was punctured when he took a shot to the ribs at the end of the third round.

It’s understood fluid build-up in Felder’s lungs was the reason for the extra night in hospital.
Despite the scary incident, the fighter still had time to make light of the situation on social media.
