UFC star's wife sent sick messages after brutal KO
UFC fans have slammed online trolls who have sent the wife of star fighter Ben Askren disgusting messages in the wake of his knockout at the hands of Jorge Masvidal.
Askren fell victim to the fastest knockout in UFC history in his highly-anticipated clash with Masvidal.
The two fighters are far from friendly, routinely taking potshots at each other in the lead-up to Sunday’s bout.
While it was Masvidal who emerged as the comprehensive winner (and was later criticised for his celebration), even he could agree those leaving comments for Askren’s wife on Instagram were taking things too far.
Various people commented things like ‘Is Ben still dead?’ and ‘Is your husband alive’, sparking outrage among the UFC community.
Yes, I hate Ben Askren more than any of you but commenting sick messages on her wife's Instagram is something I wouldn't ever do.
Who are these guys who let them watch fights? pic.twitter.com/3zgVEOS6vF— Lord Voldemort (@Am_NickHill) July 7, 2019
Don’t see how you can hate the guy, maybe dislike... but yeah those people are sociopaths thats super gross.

Masvidal courted controversy himself in the lead-up to the fight, trash talking Askren by saying he wanted to ‘end his bloodline’.
A furious Askren later described the comments as ‘sick’ and ‘disturbing’, forcing Masvidal to clarify what he meant later on.
“Not his bloodline, I said I want to take him out of the reproduction system so he can’t reproduce anymore,” Masvidal said in an ESPN interview earlier this month.
“We don’t need anymore Ben Askren’s in this world. Not his bloodline.
“Whatever he’s done already, I don’t mention nobody’s kids: I wouldn’t dare, but I’m just taking him out for the future. We don’t need more people like him on this planet.”
Masvidal slammed for ‘classless’ celebration
Masvidal shocked the UFC world on Sunday when he took just five seconds to flatten Ben Askren.
As the bell rang to start the fight, Masvidal charged towards Askren and executed the perfect flying knee KO, immediately knocking out his opponent.
He then delivered a number of brutal punches to a clearly unconscious Askren before the referee managed to call off the fight.
After a spiteful build-up to the fight, Masvidal wanted to flaunt his victory.
The American mocked Askren being knocked out, flopping to the canvas and flailing around - all while his opponent was lying unconscious next to him.
He also had words with Askren as he lay prone, even though he probably couldn’t hear them.
Masvidal’s many mocking taunts of Askren following the history-making knockout took much longer than the fight itself.
Leading up to the grudge match, the two had taunted one another over social media and in person, with Askren even going so far as to suggest that Masvidal didn’t understand Askren when he addressed him in English.
In return, Masvidal promised to end Askren’s career.
The unsavoury scenes took the shine off the historic KO for many fans, who blasted Masvidal for his ‘classless’ display.
