UFC featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski let rip at his rival for his suspension over a failed drug back in 2014 ahead of their title fight this weekend.

The Australian champ heads into his fight with American Brian Ortega on a nine-run streak in the UFC and has no doubt in his mind he will walk away the champ once again.

A victory would put him in an elite category of UFC fighters to have won 10 or more fights in a row.

However, bad blood remains between Volkanovski and Ortega and this was evident as the pair came face-to-face for the first time in months.

As Volkanovski stood across from Ortega the pair appeared to trade barbs.

However, Volkanovski didn't back down and even went a step further in reminding the challenger of his chequered past.

“I ain’t scared of ya,” Volkanovski said, UFC President Dana White separated the pair.

After trading words, Volkanovski said: “I didn’t know about you popping. That s**t don’t sit well with me. You don’t deserve to be here."

"You’re a f**king drug cheat — you don’t deserve to be here. That’s it. Done.”

Volkanovski was referring Ortega's failed drug test in 2014, which saw him receive a nine month ban.

The pair have not seen eye-to-eye since their involvement as coaches on The Ultimate Fighter.

Volkanovski accused Ortega of being 'fake' and Ortega also hit out at the champion's attitude.

Having appeared in a number of interviews, Volkanovski showcased his new shaven haircut.

When asked in a UFC Embedded episode, Volkanovski said he cut his own hair because he hasn't been able to get a haircut due to Sydney's lockdown restrictions.

He also credited Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson as a member of the bald community that make the look famous.

The video made its way to Johnson.

And The Rock appeared to agree with the Aussie champ, before wishing him luck this weekend.

"No one remembers when we had hair, brother," The Rock wrote.

"Shave it off and keep kickin’ ass champ!"
