American boxing great Shawn Porter has issued a brutal reality check to Tim Tszyu following his dominant victory over Brian Mendoza. Tszyu, 28, improved to 24-0 with a 12-round beatdown of the American challenger and now has his sights set on the pound-for-pound best.

Post-fight Tszyu's attention shifted to Charlo, who he was set to meet earlier this year before the 33-year-old sustained a hand injury in sparring. Charlo then moved up two weight divisions to face Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez, who easily disposed of him.

Tszyu post-fight called out the "delusional" Charlo as a must-do fight to unify of the division. “He (Charlo) is the best 154, but let’s prove it to everyone who is really the king of the division,” Tszyu said after Sunday’s victory.

But it isn't only Charlo on his radar as a shirt worn by Tszyu post-fight showed the Aussie fighter's hit list, which included Terence Crawford and Canelo. Porter, however, swiftly warned the Australian off fighting either of those men. “That Tim Tszyu does not beat Terence Crawford,” Porter said following Sunday’s fight.

“He needs more defence and I think he needs a little bit more footwork. Those are intangibles you’ve just got to have against Terence Crawford and I think he’s not on Canelo’s radar.” The former world champion also said Tszyu doesn't have the "power" or "strength" to defeat Canelo.

Porter still full of praise for Tszyu's accomplishments

Despite the words of warning for the undefeated Aussie, Porter praised what Tszyu has done inside and outside of the ring. “Speaking to him, just how he’s handling everything (stands out to me),” Porter said.

“People say never change and he just seems to be calm, cool and collected under everything — even after a big win. He fought lights out. I felt like outside of one round it was a shut-out and even with that he’s still humble and not overly excited and still looking forward to what the future of boxing has for him."

Focus no longer on Charlo says boxing promoter

While Tszyu appeared to be seeking out the Charlo fight after Sunday's win, No Limit CEO George Rose previously dismissed the potential unification bout, saying the American was no longer in their plans.

“Brian Mendoza, Errol Spence, Terence Crawford, Canelo Alvarez … that’s what is next for Tim Tszyu,” Rose told Fox Sports prior to the Mendoza fight.“Charlo had his chance and he ran. He literally ran," he said.

“He ran from fighting Tim for the undisputed title and then he ran around the ring all the way to the bank against Canelo. Of course we want Tim to become the undisputed champion of the world, but when the guy who has the other belts has one fight every one or two years it’s not good business.”
