Nick Kyrgios and Thanasi Kokkinakis have been eliminated from doubles after falling to the formidable duo John Isner and Hubert Hurkacz at the Miami Open.

Only hours after learning of his fines due to his Miami Open outburst, Kyrgios and Kokkinakis fell to the towering Isner once again with the American and single's finalist Hurkacz triumphing 6-4, 6-3.

Isner and Jack Sock stopped the 'Special K's' run at Indian Wells in doubles, but Isner and his new partner Hurkacz were too much for the Aussies as they continue to bring fans to stadiums.

While the match was over in straight sets, there was some high quality tennis on display.

One moment in the second set brought a smile to Isner's face after a swashbuckling back-and-forth saw Kyrgios miss a volley after a breathtaking rally.

Hurkacz has now reached the singles semi-final and the doubles final at the Miami Open.

Isner won the Indian wells doubles title and is now one win away from completing the 'Sunshine Doubles' feat.

While Hurkacz is the defending singles champ in Miami and just defeated World No.2 Daniil Medvedev in the quarter-final.

Hurkacz is now on a combined 14-match winning streak in Miami.

While the loss is a big blow for Kyrgios and Kokkinakis, they both gained considerable points for the year-end ATP doubles race.

Having entered the Miami Open clear of No.2 spot, a semi-final place means they will only gain more valuable points for the tournament.
