Murray - who suffered his earliest ever defeat at Wimbledon after going down to John Isner in the second round - said he was ecstatic to be teaming up with his long-time rivals.
“I’m looking forward to playing the Laver Cup in London,” the three-time Grand Slam winner said.
“I love playing as part of a team and there is a great atmosphere and intensity to the event. I’ve heard lots of good things and I’m excited to be teaming up with both Roger and Rafa for Team Europe.”
Named after Australian great Rod Laver, the three-day team event pits six of Europe's top players against six from the rest of the world.
Murray's inclusion has sent tennis fans into a frenzy on social media, with many praying for Novak Djokovic to complete the 'Big Four' at the Laver Cup.

"It would be very unique. It is a possibility," Djokovic told reporters after booking his spot in the third round of Wimbledon.
"My agent has communication with the Laver Cup team. We have an agreement that there will be a decision after Wimbledon is finished."
Team Europe out to extend Laver Cup domination
Nadal, Djokovic, Federer and Murray have dominated men's tennis in the last two decades having won 65 grand slam titles between them.
London's O2 Arena, which hosted the men's season-ending ATP Finals from 2009 to 2020, will stage the Laver Cup in September.
Team Europe, captained by Bjorn Borg, have won all the previous editions.
Borg said: “I am extremely excited to have Andy on our team. He is a dedicated, ferocious, and inspirational competitor who has re-established himself at the top of the game. He will be an incredible asset for the home team in both singles and doubles.”
Team World captain John McEnroe has named Felix Auger-Aliassime, Taylor Fritz and Diego Schwartzman as three members of his team.
