Missing fantasy basketball? So are we.
Although the NBA Playoffs so far have thrown up more than enough twists and turns in a season that is unlikely to be topped for drama, there’s nothing like the fun that comes from bantering with your fantasy league over the latest ridiculous trade requests and waiver-wire pickups.
Our own fantasy basketball expert, Josh Lloyd, took to Reddit recently to answer some of your burning questions as we await not only the NBA Finals, but word on what the next NBA season will look like as the global coronavirus pandemic goes on.
KricketiTunes: In a dynasty league, who would you rather have - Zion Williamson or Ben Simmons?
Josh Lloyd: It’s probably Zion for me, he’s younger and he has a higher upside. But we all know what Simmons’ floor is, and it’s really good.
iFad1G: Hi Josh, bog fan of your podcast. Have you ever been contacted by a player, and how did it go?
JL: I once had the Headmaster, Jamal Murray, reply to a tweet. Other than that, Eric Bledsoe has blocked me for some reason, while Jack Cooley follows me. That’s about all I can recall.
jadawkin: Who would be your number one pick next year in fantasy?
JL: At this point, it’s probably still James Harden. In a points league, it’s likely Giannis Antetokounmpo. But, an argument could be made for either Anthony Davis or Karl-Anthony Towns as well.
Aroy11: Hey Josh, who’s in your top three in this year’s dynasty rookie drafts? I have (in order( LaMelo Ball, Killian Hayes, and James Wiseman.
JL: I’ll have a more concrete list when the draft has been done, but at the moment mine is similar - Ball, Hayes, Wiseman.
AshamedTreat: Hey Josh, do you think Mitchell Robinson has a good chance to step up next season and become a solid top 40 player? Or do you think the combination of foul trouble, limited offence and the New York Knicks will continue to limit his potential? Seems like new head coach Tom Thibodeau might give him a better chance, unless they give heavy minutes to Taj Gibson.
JL: I think Robinson has a big chance to become a top 40 guy. He did improve in his foul issues from his first season this year. The Taj Gibson issue is real and I think his blocks will go down the more minutes he plays. But it is his third year in the NBA, so I expect more minutes and better performance.
