Missed Adam Reynolds act leaves fans in awe after 'sad' development for Broncos fans

The Broncos are reeling after the loss to the Roosters after a number of injuries.

Injured Broncos star Adam Reynolds has left fans and commentators in awe of his grit having thrown his body into a desperate tackle only seconds after tearing his bicep, which will see him ruled out for at least 12 weeks. The Broncos were dealt a devastating blow to their NRL title hopes after halfback Reynolds limped off the field having torn his bicep making a tackle at the beginning of the second half.

The Broncos folded to the Roosters in a 40-18 thrashing with Jesse Arthurs also leaving the field due to a broken jaw. Reece Walsh also endured a poor night in the drubbing. And while Kevin Walters and the Broncos fan base are ruing the loss of their general for the next three months at least, Reynolds' commitment to the team can not be doubted after a missed moment in second-half.

In the 44th minute, Reynolds was seen behind play clutching at his arm. NRL legend Andrew Johns quickly called Reynolds' injury. "The way he is holding that arm, it is a pec or a bicep," Johns said straight away. He then made his way to the wing behind play to get back into the defensive line. The Roosters attacked the blindside with the Broncos a man down.

And despite not being able to lift his arm, Reynolds rushed back into the line as he noticed the Roosters were making a break. And the No.7 put his body on the line as he dived at the Roosters winger to stop his run and force him out of touch.

While the offload put the Roosters away, a questionable forward pass stopped play. Reynolds didn't get back into the field of play as he stayed hunched over in pain. A trainer immediately ran over to Reynolds as he made his way down the tunnel.

Walters later admitted Reynolds would most likely miss three months after a bicep tear ended his night. Despite fans being disappointed with the Broncos' effort at home in front of their fans, Reynolds' commitment to the jersey can not be faulted.

The Roosters were by far the superior team on Friday night, but the Broncos were dealt two huge blows during the match. Winger Jesse Arthars left the first-half and didn't return after suffering what appeared to be a broken jaw after a collision. Then Reynolds left the field in serious pain in his left arm after the 46th minute when he tackled winger Fetalaiga Pauga.

And it was confirmed Reynolds tore his bicep and is facing at least three months on the sidelines in a huge blow for the club's premiership chances. There is a chance Reynolds will not play again in 2024. "Adam has got a torn biceps. He will have surgery and will be out for an extended period I would have thought," Broncos coach Kevin Walters said.

"Jesse Arthars has broken his jaw, so they are two long-term injuries." Walters will now need to decide who will play halfback with the Broncos outfit needing a reshuffle.

"We would prefer for guys to not get injured but it gives us an opportunity to have a really good look at Jock for the next 12 or 14 weeks," Walters said. "It was a one-to-two-week injury but I haven't had a chance to talk to the doctors about Jock and his return. He would be an outside chance against Parramatta.

"(Sailor) could play a role there for us, certainly. He has got a good football IQ. We have been defending him in the front line and he has been doing that at Queensland Cup level. We have got some options but will let the dust settle over the weekend. We have got good depth. I'm more concerned about how we played tonight. We need to fix that. We will get Adam back I am pretty sure before the year is out, and also Jesse Arthars."
