Ollie Robinson leaves cricket world stunned after 'insane' Ashes call
The England villain has left Aussie fans baffled after a 'bizarre' claim ahead of the second test.
England bowler Ollie Robinson has left cricket fans scratching their heads after he claimed the Aussies were on the 'back foot', despite winning the first test at Edgbaston in stunning scenes. Australia took a 1-0 series lead against England after a thrilling first Ashes test, which saw Pat Cummins lead his nation to victory.
During the match, Robinson dragged Ponting into his feud with Usman Khawaja having claimed the former Aussie captain showed similar aggression as he did during the first innings. This saw Ponting hit back at the bowler and called from him to worry about the Australian team 1-0 up in the series.

Aussie great Matthew Hayden also let rip at the bowler and called him a 'forgettable' cricketer as former cricketers react to Robinson's sledge. Much has been made of 'Bazball' since England lost the first test, which has seen the nation both praised and derided. However, Robinson believes England's aggressive style was a success.
And the fiery fast bowler even went as far to claim the English have the Aussies on the 'back-foot', despite going down in the first test. “We were surprised by how defensive Australia were and how unwilling they were to go toe-to-toe with us," Robinson wrote in a column for esteemed cricket publication Wisden.
"Obviously it’s worked for them this Test match. But we feel that with the way they’re playing at the moment, a pitch with a bit more movement would benefit us hugely.
"Baz said it after the game, ‘It feels like we’ve won, lads’. We’ve entertained the world, and we’ve put the Aussies on the back foot. For him to say that after a loss is quite significant for us.” Robinson even went as far to claim the team was looking to revolutionise the way people look at cricket, which could be remembered in 20-30 years.
Robinson admitted his claim sounded 'weird', but he was sure the Aussies would change their approach after the first test. However, Robinson's claim hasn't gone down well. Most Aussie fans have been left baffled at his claim with Australia absorbing England's pressure before winning the test.
According to Ollie Robinson winning a test match is short term. Being remembered for Bazball in 20-30 years is what really matters 🤔

Ricky Ponting hits back at Ollie Robinson
Robbinson caused a stir at Edgbaston after a verbal spray at Khawaja. And not willing to back down after the day's play, Robinson then dragged Ponting into the incident and said the former players never had an issue firing up during their time in the middle.
After the test, the legendary Aussie batter responded to Robinson and claimed he should be more focused on his bowling, which came under fire during the Edgbaston test, rather than bringing him into his feud.
"As I said after Ollie Robinson said what he said, this England cricket team hasn't played against Australia and they'll find out pretty quickly what playing Ashes cricket and playing against a good Australian cricket team is all about," Ponting told the ICC Review podcast.
"And if Ollie Robinson hasn't learned that already after last week, then he's a slow learner. Some of the things he had to say – I mean he even brought my name into it, which I felt was a little bit unusual, but for me it's water off a duck's back.
"If he is sitting back thinking about me, then no wonder he bowled like the way that he did in that game, if he's worried about what I did 15 years ago. He'll learn pretty quickly that if you're going to talk to Australian cricketers in an Ashes series, then you want to be able to back it up with your skills."
