Mitchell Moses and partner Bri Gardoni have tied the knot in a secret ceremony in news that was kept largely out of the public eye. Moses and Gardoni were married last weekend in a ceremony attended by a number of NRL players.

Details about the big day were never shared publicly, and neither Moses or Gardoni have posted any photos on social media. The news only came to light thanks to photos posted by the wife of Parramatta Eels teammate Junior Paulo.

Other Eels players to attend included Regan Campbell-Gillard, Dylan Brown, Bailey Simonsson and Bryce Cartwright. Moses was dressed in a white jacket and black pants, while Gardoni had a number of wardrobe changes throughout the evening.

The wedding news comes after Moses copped some backlash in August when he confessed that he'd only changed daughter Aspyn's nappy once in 12 months. Moses and Gardoni welcomed Aspyn in September of 2022, but Moses missed the birth because the Eels were playing in the preliminary final in North Queensland.

The star halfback decided to remain in North Queensland rather than fly home to Sydney, helping the Eels make the grand final as a result. However they were thrashed by the Panthers one week later in the decider.

Mitchell Moses savaged over confession about daughter

In an appearance on the 'Saturday Scrum' program on Triple M radio last August, Moses was asked by Ryan Girdler about life as a father. Girdler asked: “You’re at least changing nappies?” But Moses replied: “No, I haven’t Girds. I can’t do it.

“I did one when she was born, because the nurse pretty much came in and made me do it so I felt like I had to, but that was the only time. Like I said, my missus is over everything, she’s very good. I’m very lucky to have her.”

Girdler responded: “Mate, of course you can (change nappies). Come on, roll the sleeves up brother, you’re missing out.”

Tony Squires commented “The more you say that, the less impressive it sounds" in relation to Moses' praise for Gardoni. Moses reiterated: “I’m very lucky to have her.”

The startling confession was completely savaged on social media, with fans calling on Moses to pull his finger out and do his bit around the house. The comments came just a few weeks after he suffered a season-ending cheekbone fracture, meaning he could spend more time at home.

Mitchell Moses opens up on decision to miss daughter's birth

Moses previously opened up about the difficult decision he made to miss Aspyn's birth, after Eels coach Brad Arthur had told him to be with his partner in Sydney. “I can’t leave these boys," Moses told the Sydney Morning Herald.

“(Brad) said, ‘what are you doing here? Get out of here’. I just looked at him and said, ‘I can’t’. I can’t leave these boys here given how hard we’ve worked all year.

“He addressed all the boys in the sheds and let everyone know I’d had my first child over FaceTime. It was a pretty special moment. All the boys got around me and I felt very comfortable on the field."

The Eels halfback said Gardoni wasn't initially pleased with his decision but understood the predicament. "She was a bit filthy at the start... but she understood. She's supported me through everything," he said.

"She's seen how much work I put in this year to be in the position that we're in. I have a family now - all this is for them."
