Neymar's mother, 52, reportedly dumps 23-year-old boyfriend
The mother of football superstar Neymar has reportedly split with her 23-year-old boyfriend just days after their relationship caused a major stir in the sporting world.
Neymar’s mother Nadine Goncalves, 52, took to social media recently to make her relationship with Tiago Ramos official.
‘SHAME’: Piers Morgan blasts football star's 'disgraceful' act
She posted a loved-up photo with the 23-year-old on Instagram, writing: “The inexplicable cannot be explained, you live it.”
Pro gamer Ramos is five years younger than Neymar, however the Brazilian superstar gave them his blessing.
"Be happy mum, love you,” he commented on the photo.
However it now appears as though things have cooled, with Brazilian media reporting the couple have split.
Goncalves is said to have broken up with Ramos after it emerged he had previously ‘dated a string of men’.
O Dia reporter Fabia Oliveira claims Goncalves was urged by her family to end the relationship.
Tiago recently posted a video with his mother and sister amid claims he’d moved out of Goncalves’ home.
Ramos had previously professed his adoration of Neymar’s football skills.
“Neymar you are fantastic, I don't know how to explain the emotion of being a fan of a guy like you, I see you playing and I'm very motivated, one day I hope to read this message with you, be your brother, and play together,” he wrote in 2017.
“I know that one day I will meet you, because I am a dreamy boy where I do not give up on my goals!”
That dream has since become a reality with Ramos posting a number of snaps with Neymar on Instagram, including one of the pair posing together in January.
Neymar's parents split in 2016 after a 25-year marriage.
UEFA eyes options to complete competitions
Meanwhile, UEFA is considering two possibilities for resuming its Champions League and Europa League competitions and has urged domestic leagues to “explore all possible options” to finish their seasons.
Football across Europe ground to a halt in March due to the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic and no leagues have yet to resume play.
UEFA said in a statement on Thursday that its Calendar Working Group was examining two scenarios, with both envisaging domestic football starting before European competitions.
One scenario would run domestic and European competitions in parallel while the other would involve completing domestic matches before re-starting UEFA competitions in August.
European soccer's governing body is keen for domestic seasons to be fully completed, but has drawn up guidelines for how qualification for next season's club competitions should be decided if some leagues cannot complete their campaigns.
UEFA said, in such a case, the slots for Champions League and Europa League places should be determined on “sporting merit” and through a transparent process.
The body warned that it reserved the right to refuse admission if its guidelines were not followed and if “the clubs were selected pursuant to a procedure which was not objective, transparent and non-discriminatory so that the selected clubs could not be considered as having been qualified on sporting merit”.
UEFA said it would also evaluate or refuse admission if “there is a public perception of unfairness in the qualification of the club.”
