'Next Ronda Rousey' destroys opponent with savage armbar
Mackenzie Dern has been touted as the next Ronda Rousey, and this brutal victory will only see those calls grow louder.
The 24-year-old Brazilian jiu-jitsu star won her debut fight in Invicta on Saturday, beating Kaline Medeiros via submission in the final stages of the third round.
In the co-main event of Invicta FC 26, Dern locked in a savage armbar submission as the bout looked destined for a decision, with Medeiros screaming in pain and forced to tap out.
The finish is Dern's third submission victory in five professional fights, taking her record to 5-0.
The impressive win had fans and fellow fighters full of praise on social media.

Mackenzie Dern's time with Legacy FC and LFA was more noteworthy for her missing weight than for her performances, but this was an extremely strong showing in her Invicta FC debut tonight. Very impressive win against skilled veteran Kaline Medeiros.

Also, Mackenzie Dern would have an astonishingly good chance at winning the UFC flyweight title tomorrow. And it should be clear what I think about where she's at as a fighter right now.

Dern drew comparisons to Rousey after a brutal win in just 55 seconds in September.
She completely dismantled Mandy Polk in her flyweight debut at LFA 24, hitting Polk with a flurry of massive punches in the first round before getting her on the ground and locking in a rear naked choke.
