Storm thrash Broncos to reach NRL grand final

Minor premiers Melbourne Storm are one step closer to avenging last year's heartbreak after thrashing the Brisbane Broncos on Friday night to reach another grand final.

A sloppy first half by both teams made way for a dominant second half by the Storm, who raced away for a 30-0 win over the Broncos at AAMI Park.

Billy Slater scored two tries in the second half in front of more than 28,000 fans.

Cooper Cronk faced heavy pressure from Brisbane in his final home game in Storm colours but contributed significantly to breaking the game open in the second half.

Melbourne, who lost the 2016 grand final to Cronulla by two points, will face the Roosters or Cowboys in next Sunday's decider.
