The Bulldogs were faced with a tricky dilemma this week as Josh Reynolds prepared for his farewell match at Belmore.

The easy option would've been to downplay the occasion, given the amount of emotional energy that's been spent on debating the much-loved local junior's move to Wests Tigers at the end of this year.

Instead, Canterbury officials have decided to ramp things up and give Reynolds the send-off he deserves.

They've printed off thousands of face masks and commemorative cards.

But the best initiative is the move to re-name the hill in his honour for Sunday's clash against the Knights.

Reminding fans of the painful split might agitate some emotions, but the trade-off is worthwhile because the determined five eighth deserves nothing less.
