7th Tackle: Bradbury a good luck omen for Blues

With so many high profile injuries, Game Three of this year's State of Origin series has been a case of 'Last Man Standing'.

So it was somewhat apt that the Olympian who rode the phrase to gold medal glory popped up in Blues Camp this week.

In a pleasant change from the icy surface upon which he shocked the world in 2002, former speed skater Steve Bradbury was spotted pool-side at the Mantra Hotel in Kingscliff as NSW players assembled for their team photo on Tuesday.

When he realised his visit would coincide with the Blues camp, he decided to book into the same hotel for a few days.

Born in Camden, an hour south west of Sydney, he remains a huge Blues fan.

"I can't wait for Game Three – it's going to be massive," he told us. "I think the boys can get the job done."
