Khabib's teammate brags about moment he king-hit McGregor

The two men responsible for attacking Conor McGregor have been named, with one taking to social media to brag about the shocking assault.

Two members of Khabib Nurmagomedov’s team jumped into the Octagon and hit out at McGregor after Khabib had launched himself out of the cage at one of McGregor’s teammates.

The men have since been revealed to be UFC fighters Zubaira Tukhugov and Islam Makhachevwill.

UFC boss Dana White says the two men will never fight in UFC again after they were arrested and released without charge following the crazy scenes.

However Tukhugov doesn’t seem fazed by being kicked out of the UFC, taking to social media to brag about his actions.

Tukhugov (the guy in the red shirt who king-hit McGregor from behind), posted a video message to Twitter on Sunday night.

“I slapped him as promised. I promised to make him answer for his words and I did,” Tukhugov said, according to a translation from journalist Karim Zidan.

Tukhugov, who has fought four times previously in UFC, appeared to be angry about McGregor’s infamous rampage in New York two months ago, where he attacked a UFC bus trying to get at Khabib.

McGregor and Tukhugov had been taking shots at each other on social media ever since, and the latter had expressed his desire to get revenge on McGregor earlier in the week.

“If you are a man – if you’re a Chechen man, American man, Ireland man – you tell him [to his face],” he told MMA Fighting.

“I want to fight outside. No cage, outside, after Lobov. I tell him. And after my fight, I show him.”

And after White’s comments, that might be Tukhugov’s only chance to square off with McGregor.

“The guys who jumped in will never fight here again,” White said post-fight.

“I’ve been working hard to promote this sport, this is not what a mixed martial arts event is normally like.”

Makhachev has won all six of his fights in UFC, submitting Kajan Johnson in his most recent bout.

Did McGregor throw the first punch?

McGregor appeared to be the innocent victim of an unprovoked attack from Tukhugov and Makhachevwill, but new footage has revealed how that wasn’t exactly the case.

As you can see above, McGregor actually threw the first punch at Khabib’s cousin Abubakar, infuriating the other members of the Russian team.

Abubakar jumped onto the top of the cage in an apparent attempt to join Khabib in the crowd, but was hit by a left hook from McGregor, who was also atop the cage.

Many fans believe the new footage explains why McGregor didn’t want to press charges against the men, allowing them to walk free not long after they were detained.
