Khabib levels shocking accusation at the UFC

Khabib Nurmagomedov has taken his anger with the UFC to a controversial new level after making a stunning accusation against the organisation.

The Russian fighter is still fuming about the fallout to the chaotic post-fight scenes that overshadowed his win against Conor McGregor at UFC 229.

Nurmagomedov is further incensed by a sense of injustice after the McGregor-incited attack on a bus carrying the Russian’s team, in Brooklyn earlier this year

“Why didn’t you fire anyone when their team attacked the bus and injured a couple of people?” Nurmagomedov wrote after the fight.

“They could have killed someone there, why no one says anything about insulting my homeland, religion, nation, family?”

The Russian has threatened to quit the UFC if the organisation maintained its stance to sack his teammate Zubaira Tukhugov for the role he played in the post-fight chaos after video emerged of him jumping the cage and punching McGregor.

Nurmagomedov has now gone one step further with regard to his fury at the UFC, accusing the organisation of playing a part in the Brooklyn bus attack on his team during an interview on Russia’s Channel One.

“When I think back there are so many questions I don’t have the answer to. Did they do it all on purpose?” he said.

“In my personal opinion, I feel like the bus incident was organised with UFC’s help.

“I can’t accuse them, but I would give it 70 per cent that they did it.

“He’s there with his cameras and his PR team with him shooting.

“An important point: the Barclays Center is a very big arena, a 20,000 person arena, but he knew where we were exactly. How could they have known? And how did they enter the arena with a gang of 20, 30 men? Come on.

“Conor has nothing to do with this media event and has a gang with him but these jokers lead him and everyone to the elevator where our bus is.

“I’m an athlete, but I’m also educated. My brain works pretty well for 15 years of fighting. I haven’t taken many shots to the head so I still have brains.”

The Russian downed McGregor when he submitted the Irishman in the fourth round of a wildly entertaining UFC 229 main event.

He then incited a riot when he jumped out of the octagon and launched himself at McGregor’s team member Dillon Danis.

Due to their actions during UFC 229, both McGregor and Nurmagomedov will receive 10-day suspensions from the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC).

Those suspensions could go even longer depending on the organisation’s investigation, according to Ariel Helwani of ESPN.

The 10-day suspensions will begin Oct. 15.

50 Cent’s bold bid to get Khabib to quit UFC

Rapper 50 Cent has made an audacious bid to try and lure Khabib Nurmagomedov away from the UFC in the wake of the Conor McGregor drama.

The music star revealed in an Instagram post his offer to pay the Russian $2 million in cash to leave the UFC and join rival Bellator.

Nurmagomedov’s $2 million fight purse was withheld after the chaos that broke out following his fourth-round submission of McGregor.

“I think it’s wrong what the UFC is doing to Khabib, they didn’t do the same thing to McGregor,” 50 Cent, whose given name is Curtis Jackson, wrote in a tweet. “I’ll pay 2 million cash tonight if he will fight for me at Bellator.”

“I’ll deal with Dana and your contract later,” 50 Cent commented on his own Instagram post, and referring to UFC president Dana White. “The UFC is not the only game in town. Zubaira (Nurmagomedov’s teammate) is welcome also.”

Nurmagomedov isn’t likely to jump to Bellator, where 50 Cent is a brand ambassador, but he did respond to the rapper’s offer.

“Just send me location,” he replied on Instagram, before inviting the rapper to come to Dagestan, the region in Russia where he lives.

“I’ll deal with Dana and your contract later,” 50 Cent commented on his own Instagram post, and referring to UFC president Dana White. “The UFC is not the only game in town. Zubaira (Nurmagomedov’s teammate) is welcome also.”
