Cricket fans have lit up social media after India’s keeper notched a number of incredible milestone’s in the fourth Test against Australia.

Rishabh Pant brought up a superb century on day two at the SCG as India rammed home their advantage against the Aussies.

In doing so, Pant became the youngest wicketkeeper to hit a century in Australia, proving he has just as much poise as power.

Aged just 21, Pant piled more pain on the Australians at the SCG when he became the second centurion of India’s marathon first innings just after tea.

After Cheteshwar Pujara was finally knocked over for 193, Pant’s knock put India within touching distance of their first Test series victory in Australia and assured them full control of the game.

Pant finished his innings unbeaten on 159 when the visitors declared at 7-622.

In doing so, Pant also became the first Indian gloveman to make a Test ton in Australia – eclipsing his highest score of 114 set against England in the process.

The stunning feats lit up social media as cricket fans praised one of the games most exciting young prospects.

Arriving for the first Test as more of a basher who excited fans with his tenancy to swat across the line, Pant showed he meant business from his first boundary on Friday when he cover drove Mitchell Starc for four.

His next was equally as classy, jamming down on a Starc yorker that went to the mid-on boundary, while he picked the gaps in the ring smartly to accumulate his score.

He brought up his century off 137 balls when he whacked a full ball from legspinner Marnus Labuschagne through mid-wicket for his 10th boundary.

He then upped the ante after reaching three figures, becoming more audacious as he and Ravindra Jadeja (81) put on an SCG record 204-run partnership for the seventh wicket.

At one stage he switch hit Travis Head for four, and not long later whacked Nathan Lyon back over his head for the first six of his innings.

He was however lucky to survive an lbw shout on 135 facing Josh Hazelwood in the first over of the third new ball, given not out to a ball replays showed would’ve clipped the top of middle stump.

Captain Virat Kohli’s declaration also meant the youngster finished just 10 runs short of Brad Haddin’s record 169 for the highest score by a wicketkeeper from any country in Australia, leaving him sitting fourth on the list.
