Channel 7 are reportedly hoping to lure both Michael and Kyly Clarke to take part in the next season of SAS Australia.

The former glamour couple of Australian cricket were married for six years before calling it quits early in 2020.

But according to New Idea, Channel 7 are keen to reunite the divorced pair on the popular reality show.

The publication quoted an 'insider' that Michael Clarke "has agreed to take part".

"And in a cunning twist, casting agents are believed to be enticing his ex, House Rules star Kyly, also 39, to sign up for the series, too," the publication added.

Michael and Kyly now share joint custody with daughter Kelsey-Lee and are believed to be on good terms.

“I think I’m extremely lucky to have been able to go through a separation with the mother of my child and us still be great friends,” Clarke said last July.

“I actually think Kyly and my friendship now is as strong as it’s ever been.

“We still talk daily and I think you’ve heard Kyly say as well both of us will always prioritise our daughter and a big part of that is a friendship between mum and dad."

They both moved on to new romances after their split, with Michael dating Sydney fashion designer Pip Edwards, while Kyly was with Supercars driver James Courtney for a brief period.

However both are now believed to be single again.

Sam Burgess' SAS Australia appearance scrapped?

New Idea also reports that retired NRL star Sam Burgess was set to take part in the upcoming season, however a number of recent scandals may have changed those plans.

“Sam’s involvement is all in the air now, and whether Channel Seven can take that risk on someone like him remains to be seen,” the 'insider' said.

The former South Sydney Rabbitohs star is due to spend more time fronting a magistrate after allegedly committing driving offences.

The 32-year-old was allegedly driving a BMW X5 when stopped on the Hume Highway south of Sydney last month.

"He was subjected to a random roadside drug test before being taken to Southern Highlands Police Station where he underwent a secondary oral fluid test," police said in a statement, without naming Burgess.

"The sample has been sent for further analysis."

The man was told to attend court for using an unregistered vehicle, and failing to obtain a NSW driver's licence after being in Australia for more than three months.

Earlier in February, Burgess was convicted of intimidating his former father-in-law.

The retired star was sentenced to a two-year community corrections order, requiring him to be of good behaviour.

Burgess is due to face Moss Vale Local Court on the driving allegations on May 4.

Sonny Bill Williams is also said to be on the SAS Australia producers' short list.

Fellow athletes James Magnussen, Shayna Jack, Mitchell Johnson, Nick Cummins, Candice Warner, Sabrina Frederick and Molly Taylor all featured in the first season.
