Aussie cricket great Michael Clarke has responded to reports he has reunited with ex-wife Kyly, denying claims made by former girlfriend Pip Edwards.

Earlier this week, Edwards claimed Michael and Kyly were back together as photos circulated of them enjoying a weekend away together with their daughter in Palm Beach.

Speaking at Australian Fashion Week, Edwards said the former married couple were indeed back in a relationship, saying: “I wish them well."

However Clarke has now rubbished those claims.

Speaking to Kyle and Jackie O on Friday morning, Clarke said: “We went to Palm Beach last weekend with my sister, her husband and two kids.

“And all of a sudden, because we’re having a family holiday with my daughter, we’re back together.

“I think they just forgot to ask Kyly or myself.”

The former Aussie cricket captain said he and Kyly still spend time together for the sake of daughter Kelsey-Lee and they have a healthy relationship.

“Kyly and I have said it from day one - we have such a great friendship, and the fact we can do that for our daughter, I don’t think there’d be a husband and a wife, or an ex-husband and wife that are not together, that wouldn’t want that for their child,” Clarke said.

“Kyly’s such a natural parent, she’s an amazing mum. For me, I’m learning as I go. I got 50 per cent custody of my daughter, so I love seeing her.

“Kyly and I are speaking nearly every day, because I’m asking for advice … even down to food. If Kyly’s making her something when she’s with her, I’m saying, ‘Kyly, why does she love your lamb but she doesn’t love mine?’

“I need the help as well … our friendship is so important for our daughter.”

Michael and Kyly Clarke maintain good relationship

Michael and Kyly announced their separation in February last year after seven years of marriage.

“After living apart for some time, we have made the difficult decision to separate as a couple, amicably," they said.

They now share joint custody with daughter Kelsey-Lee.

Michael and Kyly have both since moved on to new romances, with Michael dating Sydney fashion designer Edwards, while Kyly was with Supercars driver James Courtney for a brief period.

“I think I’m extremely lucky to have been able to go through a separation with the mother of my child and us still be great friends,” Clarke said last July.

“I actually think Kyly and my friendship now is as strong as it’s ever been.

“We still talk daily and I think you’ve heard Kyly say as well both of us will always prioritise our daughter and a big part of that is a friendship between mum and dad.”

Clarke played 115 Tests and 245 one-day internationals for Australia, scoring over 17,000 runs at international level.

He has since forged a successful career in the media, while Kyly was a judge on Channel 7 renovation show House Rules and a recent contestant on Dancing with the Stars.
