Aussie opener Marcus Harris has accepted a one-match suspension after his outburst following a controversial Sheffield Shield dismissal.

Harris accepted a level-one offence after he was charged with 'abuse of equipment' during Victoria's Sheffield Shield clash against Tasmania.

Harris was given out on the weekend, but appeared livid with the decision and immediately pointed to his elbow to claim the ball had hit his arm.

But having been given out and needing to walk, Harris hit the ground with his bat.

He then reportedly knocked over a chair.

Harris was fined half of his match fee and had one suspension point added to his record.

Combined with a previous penalty, it was enough to sideline him from Wednesday's match at Melbourne's Junction Oval.

Harris' promising Sheffield Shield form

In the second innings, Harris finished on 45 not out, before rain ended play.

Harris has been in good touch this summer having hit a century and a half-century to average 64.50.

Meanwhile, Victoria have rested James Pattinson, Jon Holland and Will Sutherland from the clash, while Tim Paine will skipper the visitors.

An unwell Paine missed the recent Shield match, but the Test skipper has since tested negative for COVID-19.

Tasmania captain Matthew Wade has been rested, while Ben McDermott is sidelined with a hamstring injury.
