Zlatan's epic surprise for rescued Thai soccer team

Swedish footballing sensation Zlatan Ibrahimovic has produced an epic surprise for the rescued Thai soccer team.

The twelve boys of the Wild Boars Football club made worldwide headlines when news spread they were stuck in a flooded cave in Chain Rai.

Since then, they’ve been overwhelmed with messages of support from sporting organisations across the globe and a number of kind gestures.

But when they appeared on the Ellen DeGeneres show, they never thought they’d be meeting their footballing idol – Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Now based in Los Angeles after signing for LA Galaxy in the MLS, Zlatan took time out of his schedule to make an appearance on the show.

In true Zlatan style, a rockstar entrance quickly ensued.

Zlatan appeared through a throng of smoke and the twelve young boys, including their coach absolutely erupted.

The self-proclaimed “king” made his way around the team, high-fiving each and every one of them before settling on the sofa.

“I thought that was brave, this team, these kids, they are braver than me,” Zlatan said.

“They showed their collective teamwork and patience, faith, and believe in other hands also.

“This is probably the best team in the world.”

To top off their incredible meeting with the LA Galaxy superstar, Zlatan pulled out a series of presents for the team.

“We have gifts, presents for you, and hopefully you get happy,” Zlatan said.

“We can make an exchange, you get my shirt and I get your shirt.”

The boys were gifted with LA Galaxy merchandise, Zlatan Ibrahimovic jerseys and tickets to see their idol light it up in the US.
