World Cup Ski Competitors Race on Artificial Snow Amid High Temperatures in the Alps

Athletes competing at the Audi FIS Ski World Cup in Adelboden, Switzerland, on Saturday, January 7, navigated a course made of artificial snow as record temperatures hit many European countries and caused snow shortages in ski resorts.

Footage recorded by Tim Schweizer shows the white course set against a green mountainside.

Swiss media reported that staff at Adelboden had constructed the course out of artificial snow as the natural snow had melted in December.

It comes amid reports that several European countries, including Switzerland, reached high and record temperatures for January this year.
