Police have charged a woman with dozens of charges relating to the indecent treatment of a child on the Gold Coast.

Officers from the Gold Coast Child Protection Unit began investigating the 32-year-old after another woman made a complaint in February 2023 that she was indecently treated when she was a teenager.

The woman met the girl through a Gold Coast education facility and the pair had repeated contact both inside and outside the school on numerous occasions, police allege.

Police allege the offences were committed while the pair had contact between June 2015 and July 2016.

The Hope Island woman has been charged with 75 counts of indecent treatment of a child under 16, one count of grooming and one count of attempting to pervert the course of justice.

She is due to appear at the Southport Magistrates Court on August 2.
