Chris Jones of the Kansas City Chiefs shed tears during the team's AFC championship win for a sweet reason.

After Kansas City clinched their spot in the Super Bowl with a win over the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, Jan. 26, the 30-year-old defensive tackle explained why he was feeling emotional on the sidelines at Arrowhead Stadium.

"I think tonight was one of the biggest games I ever played," Jones told ESPN's Scott Van Pelt.

Jones said he realized "just what's at stake" as the Chiefs head back to the Super Bowl for the third consecutive time — giving them the opportunity to become the first team in NFL history to win three championships in a row.

"And the opportunity to go back three times to the Super Bowl...Just the magnitude of that, you can't really take it in until the game is over. You've got so many emotions running through," Jones continued.

The defensive tackle — who was on of the Chiefs' championship teams in 2020, 2023 and 2024 — then took a moment to say, "God is good," before joining his family to celebrate Kansas City's AFC championship.

Sunday's thrilling matchup between the Bills and Chiefs came down to the final moments of the game. After the Bills tied things up at 29 to end the third quarter, Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker put Kansas City up three with a field goal in the fourth. Buffalo wasn't able to get around Kansas City's defense in the final minutes and the Chiefs secured the win.

During the Lamar Hunt trophy presentation on the field, quarterback Patrick Mahomes joined Kelce and head coach Andy Reid to address the fans at Arrowhead Stadium.

Mahomes, 28, expressed his gratitude to the Kansas City fans for being "loud and proud" at Arrowhead Stadium. "We love you, Chiefs Kingdom," the quarterback said while hoisting the Lamar Hunt trophy.
