West Ham launch investigation after fights among fans during Arsenal loss

An investigation has been launched after multiple fights broke out in the stands during West Ham's home loss to Arsenal on Saturday night.

An entertaining evening game saw Arsenal race into a 4-0 lead in the first half before West Ham scored twice to reduce the arrears before half-time. There was little further action after the break as the game finished 5-2.

The action was not restricted to the pitch as video footage circulated on social media during the game of fights breaking out in the home end amid claims Gunners fans had sat among Hammers supporters.

Stewards were quick to arrive to break up any fighting but there were unconfirmed reports on X that a male fan had been left unconscious.

A West Ham spokesperson told The Sun: "The club is aware of the incident and will be working to identify the offender(s).

"In line with our zero-tolerance approach, anyone identified will have their details passed to the police and will be given an indefinite ban and therefore be unable to enter London Stadium and travel with the club. There is no place for this kind of behaviour at our Stadium."
