Victory sign playmaker Reno Piscopo in ALM

Melbourne Victory have signed playmaker Reno Piscopo for the next two A-League Men seasons in a boost to their bid to claim silverware under new coach Patrick Kisnorbo.

Classy attacking midfielder Piscopo, 26, joins his hometown club after stints at Wellington and Newcastle.

After starting his career in Italy, former Olyroo Piscopo made 59 appearances and scored eight goals for Wellington in an impressive entrance to the ALM, before joining the Jets.

Piscopo joins Victory after an injury-riddled run at Newcastle, where he scored just two goals in 33 appearances over the past two seasons.

"It's exciting to be back home in Melbourne and joining a club like Melbourne Victory," Piscopo said.

"I'm looking forward to being a part of the squad and doing everything I can to help the team win silverware this season."

Piscopo is Victory's third signing under Kisnorbo, following ex-Perth Glory defender Josh Rawlins and former Central Coast striker Jing Reec.

He replaces the departed Jake Brimmer and joins Frenchman Zinedine Machach in Victory's attacking midfield stocks.

"A Melburnian at his roots, Reno is a versatile, attacking player who we believe with his attitude and work rate will add an exciting, creative element to our forward third," Kisnorbo said.

"We believe Reno will thrive at Melbourne Victory and we're looking forward to what he will produce at AAMI Park this season."
