Victory returns Celta Vigo to winning ways in La Liga

Celta Vigo have got back to their winning ways following a month without a victory with Hugo Álvarez and Iago Aspas giving the hosts all three points in a 2-0 win over Mallorca in La Liga.

Mallorca came into the match seeking to consolidate their sixth place and although they had the best of the early chances had little luck against in-form goalkeeper Vicente Guaita.

Álvarez did give Celta the lead in the 32nd minute though and Aspas made sure of the points when he volleyed home a rebound with eight minutes remaining.

Antonio Raíllo was sent off for the visitors shortly before for deliberate handball.

The win took Celta up to 10th place, while Mallorca remained in sixth.
