Novak Djokovic endured an enthralling fourth round battle with American Jensen Brooksby at the US Open, but Jelena Djokovic has showed fans a different side to the 20-time grand slam champ.

Not many were giving American young gun Brooksby much of a chance against the World No.1, but the 20-year-old stunned Djokovic to take the first set 6-1 in just 30 minutes.

However, Djokovic showed why he is an equal 20-time grand slam record holder after silencing the crowd and storming back to win 1-6, 6-3, 6-2, 6-2.

The World No.1 has no doubt felt the pressure at the US Open of a never-before-attempted quest in men's tennis.

Djokovic is attempting to win the golden slam (the first person since Rod Laver) and become the sole highest grand slam record holder with 21 titles.

But, the Serb is remaining grounded thanks to his wife Jelena.

Following his arduous win against the American, Jelena Djokovic posted to Instagram and showed Novak doing the dishes in the early hours of the morning.

She wrote the routine was a way for Djokovic to wind down after a long match.

"Novak’s 3rd shift/Novakova treća smena," she wrote, accompanied with a video of Novak scrubbing away.

"This is how Novak meditates after his late night match at the @usopen. He’s my MVP in the kitchen."

One follower wrote: "Good sport on the court and in the kitchen."

Jelena Djokovic running with the wolf

Earlier in the tournament, Jelena was spotted wearing a t-shirt featuring Djokovic's face inside a silhouette of a wolf on Saturday, along with the words "I run with the wolf".

When asked about the t-shirt in his on-court interview after defeating Kei Nishikori, Djokovic opened up about what the support of his wife means to him.

“She runs with the wolf,” he said.

“It can be very stressful to run with the wolf. I know that she doesn’t enjoy it at all times.

“It’s kind of living on the edge with the wolf. But I love her, she’s my great support.”

Speaking last year, Jelena opened up about the dark side of living life in the limelight and why she’s stepped out of the public eye in recent times.
