'Seen this over and over': Cricket world erupts over 'horrible' moment

Cricket fans have had an absolute field day over a comical runout at the Under-19 World Cup.

Pakistan’s Qasim Akram was completely burned by captain Rohail Nazir after setting off for a run against India in their semi-final on Wednesday.

GOOD STUFF: Mitchell Starc's selfless act ahead of Big Bash final

Qasim hit the ball on the off-side and set off for a run after Rohail appeared to call him through.

However Rohail changed his mind and tried to get back to the non-striker’s end, leaving both batsmen at the same end.

In comical scenes, Rohail desperately tried to beat his teammate to the crease to ensure that he wasn’t the one dismissed - and he succeeded.

Qasim was forced to make the long walk back to the pavilion while his skipper survived.

Unfortunately for Pakistan fans it was an all-too familiar sight after a string of embarrassing runouts in international cricket in recent years.

Unfortunately it didn’t get much better for Pakistan as India completed a 10-wicket victory by chasing down 172 in the 36th over.

Pakistan’s embarrassing history

Most notably, Azhar Ali was runout against Australia in 2018 when he stopped in the middle of the pitch for a chat with Asad Shafiq thinking he’s hit a boundary.

Unfortunately the ball hadn’t travelled all the way to the rope, leaving Tim Paine to gleefully whip off the bails after Mitchell Starc threw it back in.
