Khabib's staggering swipe at UFC over 'useless' Octagon girls

The undefeated lightweight has remained vocal about his thoughts on fighters and the UFC during his retirement.

One such topic he addressed in a recent Q&A was the role of octagon girls.
Ring or octagon girls have long been part of combat sport.
They have generally been present in the ring before and after the fight, and hold up the round number before the bell.
The UFC even use octagon girls to share the stage with fighters at weigh-ins.
But, in an interview conducted in Russian, an MMA fan translated the Dagestan native's comments about what he thought of the UFC's use of octagon girls.
"Ring girls are the most unnecessary people in MMA, what function to they bring?" he said.
"You turn on the tv and you see it’s the second [round], why are they walking there.”
Khabib went one-step further and said in many cultures, it would make families watching the UFC "uncomfortable".
“Let’s say I’m sitting there with my father, everyone has their preferences and cultures," he said.
"I sit with my father and those people walk by showing that’s it’s the second round.
"No one looks at that, and I’m not comfortable sitting there with my father.”

One such incident that made headlines was when the UFC's Anna Galochkina covered up in front of Nurmagomedov out of respect.
Images surfaced of Galochkina robing up when passing Nurmagomedov in 2016.
She later explained her actions and said it was to respect Nurmagomedov's beliefs and didn't want to make him feel uncomfortable.
