UFC free fight: Diego Lopes dominates Brian Ortega in historic Noche UFC event at Sphere

Diego Lopes cemented himself as a top threat at 145 pounds in his last outing.

Back in September, in the Noche UFC event at the Sphere in Las Vegas, Lopes faced former UFC title challenger and long-time contender Brian Ortega on the main card of the event. In easily the biggest fight of his career, Lopes dominated Ortega on both the ground and striking to earn two 30–27 cards and one 30–26. The victory extended Lopes' current winning streak to five in a row.

Lopes (27-6 MMA, 6-1 UFC) returns to the cage this Saturday in the main event of UFC 314 (pay-per-view, ESPN, ESPN+), which takes place at Kaseya Center in Miami. He fights former UFC champion Alexander Volkanovski (26-5 MMA, 13-4 UFC) for the vacant UFC featherweight title.
