UFC fighter's embarrassing self-defeating KO slam

UFC flyweight Jarred Brooks has turned a sure thing into an embarrassing defeat after a slam went horribly wrong at UFC Fight Night 131.

The first fight on the preliminary card, Brooks was up against highly rated prospect Jose Torres and probably winning.

But it all went wrong when he went for the home run in the second round.

“He hit a big slam, used a lot of energy,” Torres said.

“He let me get parallel, I let him get off center, he knocked himself out and I put myself in the big power position.”

Brooks didn’t appear to be knocked out cold but he was vulnerable, and it took just a few seconds for Torres to be declared the winner by technical knockout.

Torres improved to 8-0 with the win, while for Brooks (13-2) lost his second straight fight.
