UFC Fight Night 242 post-event facts: Jessica Andrade makes history in Fight of the Night defeat

The UFC opened its September schedule on Saturday with UFC Fight Night 242 at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, and the main event saw a welterweight contender continue to emerge.

[autotag]Sean Brady[/autotag] (17-1 MMA, 7-1 UFC) showed he's capable of beating a proven former title challenger when he outpaced [autotag]Gilbert Burns[/autotag] (22-8 MMA, 15-8 UFC) for a unanimous decision in the headlining act, setting multiple personal records in the process.

The UFC Promotional Guidelines Compliance payout for the event totaled $157,500.

Debuting fighters went 1-1 at the event.

Betting favorites improved to 22-8 in UFC headliners this year.

Silva's (18-5-1 MMA, 6-0 UFC) six-fight UFC winning streak at women's flyweight is tied with Maycee Barber for the second-longest active streak in the division behind Manon Fiorot (seven).

Silva has earned four of her six UFC victories by decision.

Andrade (26-13 MMA, 17-11 UFC) was awarded her 11th fight night bonus in UFC competition, the most of any female in company history.

Steve Garcia def. Kyle Nelson

Garcia (17-5 MMA, 6-2 UFC) has earned all 14 of his career stoppage victories by knockout. That includes all six of his UFC wins.

Garcia's five-fight UFC knockout streak is tied for fourth-longest in company history.

Garcia’s five-fight UFC stoppage streak is tied with Joanderson Brito and Carlos Ulberg for second-longest among active fighters in the company behind Shavkat Rakhmonov (six).
