Paige Bueckers scored 10 of UConn's points in that first overtime. She had a 3 pointer to begin the second overtime that really started their push there. Aliyah Edwards and Christyn Williams were huge in that second overtime to push UConn over the edge.
UConn head coach Geno Auriemma talked after the game on the ESPN broadcast about how this was one where it felt like both teams should have advanced, they were both having incredible games. And that is really what it was. This was close throughout. NC State came back from trailing by 10 to really push it in the third quarter.
But Paige Bueckers has been clutch again this year in her sophomore season. She had 27 points, 6 rebounds, was an efficient 10 of 15. She's still returning from that leg injury that kept her out of 19 games.
This is a UConn team that has not played together a ton. There were questions about what they could do. But in a raucous home environment in Bridgeport, they have won the region and are going to Minnesota.
