Trent McDuffie NFL Draft Prospect Profile

Yahoo Sports’ lead draft analyst Eric Edholm shares his evaluation of the Washington cornerback.

Video transcript

[VARIOUS SPORTS SOUNDS] ERIC EDHOLM: Time to break down a very good corner prospect in the 2022 draft. That would be Washington's Trent McDuffie. For his upside, he displays great feel for the position, able to mirror receivers in coverage beautifully. Also a hyper-intense competitor and very tough. He'll come up and lay the wood in run support. On the downside, McDuffie is on the small side. Falls below the preferred arm length threshold at 30 inches, too. And he wasn't a huge playmaker in college. Only two interceptions in three seasons. That's pretty low, even for a guy that most teams feared throwing at. For a comp, McDuffie reminds us a lot of a slightly smaller frame Jaire Alexander, one of the best corners in the NFL for the Green Bay Packers.
