Here’s the message sent by Edin Terzic to Borussia Dortmund fans after news of his shock departure from the club today...

"Dear Borussia fans, even though it hurts me terribly right now, I would like to tell you that I will be leaving BVB today,” he wrote.

“It was a huge honour to be able to lead this great club to a DFB Cup victory and most recently to a Champions League final.

“I asked those responsible for a meeting after our final at Wembley because after nine years at BVB, including six years on the coaching team and two and a half years as head coach, I feel that the upcoming new start should be accompanied by a new man on the sidelines.

“Everyone who knows me knows that during this decision-making process of the past few weeks, two hearts have been beating in my chest.

“But even after intensive discussions, my basic feeling has not changed.

“I wish Borussia Dortmund only the very best and say thank you and goodbye."

Arsenal are confident of agreeing a contract extension with third-choice option Karl Hein, but want him to go out on loan to an EFL club next season.

According to reports from Spain, a proposal has already been sent to Lunin, the Ukraine international who ended up being an important figure for Real Madrid in their Champions League and LaLiga-title winning season after injuries to both Thibaut Courtois and Kepa Arrizabalaga.

“I am very happy at Athletic,” he told Spanish radio station Cope.

“It is the club that has given me everything, it is the club that has bet on me 100 per cent, I am very happy in Bilbao and that is what I have to say.

“I have it quite clear. Athletic is my home, I am very happy and what I want to do is focus on the Euros, which is very important because if you are not 100 per cent in a competition like this, it will pass you by and the rest, I do not know what is going to happen.

Benjamin Sesko explains decision to stay at RB Leipzig

Wednesday 12 June 2024 09:29 , Matt Verri

The striker had been attracting interest from Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United after scoring 14 goals in the Bundesliga last season.

Sesko was available for £55million due to a release clause in his contract, but he has opted to pen fresh terms running until 2029.

The 21-year-old believes it is best for his development to remain with Leipzig for now, where he is a guaranteed starter in a team playing Champions League football.

“I had a good first year at RB Leipzig and am incredibly happy to be here,” said Sesko. “Team, club, city, fans - the overall package remains simply outstanding for me. The early contract extension is therefore the logical step for me.”
