Decorating your home can get pricey, especially if you have good taste — and of course, you do. Luckily, TikTok is full of hacks for decorating your space on a budget while making it look like you spent loads of money. That said, you can’t hack a sofa or build cookware, or at least you’re probably not going to. Instead, you’ll look for more affordable home decor, furniture, linens and more. The problem is that many of the affordable items look affordable, you know what I mean? But these stores offer home goods at a price point you can probably deal with, and the goods look pretty chic. As someone who recently moved and bought all new furniture, trust me. These are the top five places to find affordable home decor and furniture to make your space look like you hired an interior decorator.
1. Target
Don’t skip Target’s home goods: From rugs and furniture to candles and bedding, there’s something for everyone. Its collaborations with Chip and Joanna Gaines’ Hearth & Hand with Magnolia, Studio McGee and Jungalow brands look extra high-end, and they’re pretty great quality for the price. New collaborations and lines tend to sell out fast, though. If an item you wanted is no longer in stock, you can sign up for email alerts to know when it returns.
2. H&M Home
Did you know H&M has a home section? Well, it does, and it’s awesome. I purchased all of my cutlery from the retailer (I love this gold knife and fork set), and it’s kept its color for four years so far. You can also find linen pillow sets, bedding, storage bins, vases, blankets and more in neutral or bold shades.
3. Home Goods
Did you know Home Goods has a website? You can now shop the store online if you don’t live near one. Use it to fill your home with new furniture, coffee table books, bedding, cookware and more at a discount. However, like the store, you may need to hunt to find what you want. The site hides some brands, so you can’t search directly for them if you have one in mind.
4. AptDeco
If you like the price points of secondhand furniture on Facebook Marketplace but don’t have a way to transport extra large pieces to your home, AptDeco does all the work for you. Essentially, the site sells people’s secondhand furniture and handles the shipping (and there’s no haggling). You can find many items from West Elm, CB2, Restoration Hardware, Pottery Barn and more. Sellers will typically share if there’s any wear and tear, but some of the stuff on the site is even floor models from stores. 5. Nathan James
Nathan James is a place to find affordable yet stylish furniture that doesn’t take a lot of effort to put together. The founder, Brooke Borden, writes on the brand’s website that she founded the company when she was 22 after getting frustrated putting together IKEA furniture and not finding home goods that she liked within her budget. Today, the brand is available on Amazon, Home Depot and more, but you can find its entire collection on its website. The brand offers midcentury modern, minimalist and maybe even a touch of industrial-type finishes.
