New Zealand bowler Tim Southee has ruffled some feathers in the cricket world after pegging the pink ball at Joe Burns without an apology.
Australia were 0/33 when opener Burns blocked the quick’s ball right back at him.
But a fired-up Southee wanted to let the opener know the gloves were off and quickly collected the ball and pelted it at the stumps.
The ball caught Burns by surprise and hit him above the pads.
Southee stared down Burns, but fans on social media ripped into the NZ quick for not apologising.

Southee is possibly the biggest tosser in the world. What is he doing there? Typical pussy. #AUSvsNZ— Lord Dexter (@plzrimmie_yoda_) December 12, 2019
Never seen this kind of aggression from Southee. Flavor of Perth & pink rubbing on to him?— Koushik (@Koushik1827) December 12, 2019
Southee already laying claim to the "dirtiest player" title. What a schmuck!#ausvnz— Ben Robson (@brobsonmontey) December 12, 2019
Southee wouldn’t dare do that to Warner, the dog— Aleks (@a_cul21) December 12, 2019
Boult ruled out
New Zealand’s bowling depth will face a massive examination after Trent Boult was ruled out of the first Test against Australia.
The Black Caps remained hopeful their star pace bowler would feature after coming through a Wednesday night net session seemingly unscathed.
Battling to overcome a side strain to face Australia in the day-night Test in Perth, Boult bowled for around 20 minutes at high intensity in the Optus Stadium nets.
But he was ruled out prior to the toss.
