Will Smith's hilarious mid-match Kyrgios critique

We've already seen Will Ferrell interview Roger Federer, now it's Will Smith analysing Nick Kyrgios's tennis game.

The celebrity theme continued at the Australian Open on Friday as Hollywood star Smith was in attendance for Kyrgios's third round clash with Jo-Wilfried Tsonga.

Smith was spotted having a pre-match word to Tsonga in the tunnel, before taking his seat courtside.

Midway through the second set, Channel 7 commentator Jim Courier interviewed Smith, and asked him what he thought of the Aussie's abilities.

And the legendary actor was pretty impressed, commenting on Kyrgios's swagger.

"I'm loving it," Smith said.

"He has this little bow in his wrist (when holding his racquet), it looks like a power thing.

"I don't know a lot about tennis but watching him makes me want to take it up a little bit."

Smith also revealed this is his first time in Australia and first time in attendance at a grand slam.

The funny Kyrgios critique comes after Ferrell hijacked Federer's post-match interview after his win in the first round.

Ferrell had Rod Laver Arena in hysterics as he referred to Federer as a 'silky gazelle', before asking him whether he ate wombat meat, and whether he was actually a witch or a vampire.

Ferrell also held his own Australian Open press conference before heading back to America on Thursday.

Kyrgios went on to prevailed in a big-serving battle of wills, downing the Frenchman in four sets to progress to the round of 16.

The Australian's clutch efforts during tiebreaks proved decisive in a 7-6 (7-5) 4-6 7-6 (8-6) 7-6 (7-5) victory, earned in three hours and 17 minutes.

The win sets up a blockbuster fourth-round clash on Sunday night with Bulgarian third seed Grigor Dimitrov.
