Nadal's wonderful sportsmanship for injured opponent

Rafael Nadal has once again shown why he is the nicest guy in tennis with some brilliant sportsmanship after Pablo Carreno Busta retired injured.

Nadal barely broke a sweat to reach the French Open semi-finals, with fellow Spaniard Carreno Busta quitting with an injury less than an hour into their quarter-final.

Carreno Busta had received lengthy treatment on an abdominal injury at the end of the first set but succumbed while trailing 2-0 in the second.

Nadal displayed some wonderful sportsmanship when he embraced his countryman following the news that he could no longer continue.

Nadal had a lengthy chat with Carreno Busta to make sure he was ok, before clapping him off the court.

"I am in semi-finals with a very positive feelings," Nadal said after the match.

"I played well in all the matches here. I have positive feelings and am playing well.

"This was obviously was not the perfect way and especially against a good friend."

It's not the first time we've seen Nadal show his softer side towards his opponent:

Nadal will face Dominic Thiem in the last four after the Austrian dismissed defending champion Novak Djokovic 7-6 (7-5) 6-3 6-0.
