Dimitrov too strong for Goffin
Bulgaria's Grigor Dimitrov has stormed into the Australian Open semi-finals, the No.15 seed accounting for David Goffin in straight sets.
Dimitrov broke Goffin's opening service game in Wednesday's match and pressured the Belgian 11th seed's serve throughout, prevailing 6-3 6-2 6-4 on Rod Laver Arena.
The 25-year-old broke Goffin to go 4-3 up in the third set then held his own serve from there on to advance to the second grand slam semi-final of his career.
"I knew it wasn't going to be easy ... it was absolutely nerve-wracking in the first set," Dimitrov told the Seven Network.

"I felt I could play well but I was not striking the ball as well as I could.
"I think I was a bit passive but, with each game and with each point, I was feeling a bit better and I was finding my groove."
The 25-year-old will play the winner of the highly anticipated quarter-final between 14-time grand slam winner Rafael Nadal and No.3 seed Milos Raonic.
"Either way, there's no easy match after the fourth round ... whoever I'm facing next, I need to be 100 per cent ready," Dimitrov said.
"But I'm just humbled to be in the semis right now."
